I even had the college counselor call me and see if I was interested in swapping my major. I’ve had a lot of people suggest that, because I’ve been absolutely loving this. Raiding Area 51?: You'll find a sci-fi brothel, a gift shop and a bunch of desert Roberts is a full-time student at Bakersfield College – studying petroleum engineeringĪt this point, I’m debating changing my major to something like marketing. We’ve been planning this thing out since then.ħ questions answered: Can you really raid Area 51? And are there aliens? And I was like, “ABSOLUTELY!" So when Brock messaged me, it was like synchronicity of the universe in some way, shape or form. I was talking with a few of my friends in Bakersfield who were saying we should do some kind of music event. The event blew up to epic proportions, and my planning partner Brock Daily – he owns a company in Arkansas and throws smaller events – messaged me with the idea of throwing some kind of music event. There will be plenty of law enforcement working outside of the event, and we’ve got a lot of security monitoring this thing to make sure it’s safe for everybody involved. But I ended up going back, and they met me there. So at this point, I do not want to go home at all right now. It kind of freaked me out. They basically wanted to know where I was, when I was going to be home, what I was doing – they just wanted to talk. I let it go to voicemail, because it wasn’t a number I recognized, you know? So I called them back, and the agent answered. From there, it’s been a really interesting ride. And after it hit the news, it absolutely took off to this crazy, multinational monstrosity of an event. Over the course of three days, it went absolutely nowhere. Reading that, already having the Area 51 mystery on my mind, I was like: “I’m going to make a joke event, too!” So I created the “Storm Area 51 – They Can’t Stop All of Us” Facebook post.

And on June 27, I was reading online about the Facebook event wars to steal all of Minnesota’s lakes – which are all these meme events. It was super slow, so I was clicking through videos – and watching that brought the Area 51 mystery to the forefront of my mind. I was watching highlights of a Joe Rogan Experience podcast on YouTube while I was at work.
